37th annual I Love New York Horse Show: , 8:00am - 5:00pm

4th of July Parade
Anyone and everyone is invited to participate in Lake Placid's annual July 4th Independence Day parade. Line up is at 4:30 on Cummins Rd in front of the Olympic Center. Parade turns left onto Main St and ends at High Peaks Resort. Live MC in front of Select Sotheby's International Realty and at Mid's Park, both on Main Street. Activities all afternoon in Mid's Park courtesy of WSLP FM 93.3, your host radio station for the fireworks.

Friday July 4th
"Set the Night to Music" Fireworks Extravaganza Now in it's 25th year, Lake Placid's fireworks show, "Set the Night to Music", is legendary in Northern New York attracting huge crowds to watch the choreographed to music, live show, over Mirror Lake. Tune in to WSLP 93.3 FM or find a spot at one of the three viewing locations loaded with sound: Mid's Park on Main Street, the beach at Mirror Lake, or on the hill at the Municipal Parking Lot on Main Street. Wherever you choose to enjoy the show, get ready to be dazzled!

1st annual Adirondack Horse Show: , 8:00am - 5:00pm
The inaugural Adirondack Horse Show highlighted by the $100,000 Adirondack Grand Prix on Saturday, July 12. The horse show also features a boutique area with a wide range of shopping. There are a variety of dining options throughout the show grounds as well. An assortment of special events will also take place throughout the horse shows that are entertaining for the entire family.

Ironman Lake Placid -athletes from around the world will descend on the alpine village of Lake Placid to test their limits in the 15th annual Ironman Lake Placid. A favorite among competitors, the Lake Placid Ironman is the second oldest Ironman in North America and one of the sport's most popular courses.

Adirondack Plein Air Festival Approximately 50-70 "plein air" painters from all over the country will gather in Saranac Lake to paint the scenic Adirondacks and the historic village for three days. On the 4th day there will be Show & Sale in the Harrietstown Town Hall, with prizes awarded to works of merit, as selected by a Juror of Awards. Friday August 22 is "Paint the VIC" day, with all of the artists set up and painting at the Paul Smith's College VIC. Come hike the trails or boardwalks and observe artists painting among the varied views. Free.

Sixth Annual Hobofest Hobofest presents a mix of regional and imported performers celebrating American roots culture and the independent Hobo-spirit. Happening on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, on the grounds of the Union Depot, with the Adirondack Scenic Railroad as a backdrop. This year's program features; Woody Pines (Nashville, TN); Back Porch Society (Keene, NY); Resonant Rogues (Asheville, NC); Crackin' Foxy (Saranac Lake); Stone Fleet (Beacon, NY); Jeremiah Weed's Wildflowers (Upper Jay, NY): Lew Dite (Montreal); open jam, and more. Golf Tournament and Silent Auction Scheduled On August 23, 2014 Cornell Cooperative Extension will be holding its 5th Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction at Croninís Golf Resort in Warrensburg, NY. All proceeds from this benefit will be used to help financially support Cornell Cooperative Extensionís educational programs. A donation of $85 per person includes: green fees, cart, chicken barbecue, goodie bag, awards and prizes. The tournament will begin with registration at 9:15 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The tournament format is a 4-person scramble. Individual players are welcome and will be placed within a team. Pre-registration for tournament and barbecue is required by contacting Amy Sabattis at 518-623-3291 or 668-4881.
