the arts providing inspiration to countless painters, writers and musicians from
around the world. Each year, a unique celebration of the arts occurs as spring
comes to the Adirondacks and the winter snows give way to warm alpine days. Beginning
in June, the annual Festival of the Lakes brings well known artists together from
across North America for three exciting days of continuous theatre, dance, music,
and fine arts. This unique celebration is modeled after the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
and takes place in the Saranac Lake region of Franklin county. In Saratoga Springs, the famed Saratoga Performing Arts Center kicks off its summer season with an exciting roster of nationally recognized artist and entertainers. We

In the '80s Betty wanted to get back to more natural and handcrafted products. She bought the sheared wool from local farmers and had it processed in Maine. Betty then had her friends start knitting their favorite clothing. Residing at the Funny Farm there are sheep, chickens, dog and cats, plus a new visitor who came out of nowhere: a turkey. Anyone who visits will get a smile on their face, thus the Funny Farm. Locally made items: Jams & Jellies, Cookies, Hats & mittens, Sweaters, Table Runners, Placemats & Accessories.
